We can not confirm the scholarship status for the NPQs as this may change following the General Election outcome in July. We can confirm that there are now a reduced number of funded places, per NPQ, which may mean that schools need to self-fund their qualifications.
Funding for Autumn 2024 will target teachers and leaders in the most challenging settings, who serve the most disadvantaged communities.
Your setting may still be eligible but we understand priority for funded places will be given to:
- schools with the highest proportion of students who attract pupil premium funding
- 16-19 educational settings identified as having high disadvantage
- highly disadvantaged early years settings (NPQEYL only)
For the early headship coaching offer, funding to cover the course fees may be available if you are in your first 5 years of headship in England, in a state-funded school or state-funded 16 to 19 organisation. You need to have completed, or be completing your NPQ Headship to access the early headship coaching offer.
Funding for Spring 25 has not yet been announced.

Funding for the 2024-5 NPQ cohorts has been announced, with the NPQ Leading Primary Maths, the new NPQ SENCO which replaces the previous NASENCO qualification, the NPQ Headship and the Early Headship Coaching Offer having full scholarship funding.
The remaining NPQ qualifications; Leading Behaviour and Culture, Leading Literacy, Leading Teaching, Leading Teacher Development, Senior Leadership, Early Years Leadership and Executive Leadership may have funding based on the status of the participants and their schools. Funding is being targeted to the most disadvantaged education settings and further details will be released in due course.
