Moderation of writing assessments at Y6

Session aims:

This half day session gives Y6 teachers, and subject leaders responsible for assuring accuracy of school assessments the opportunity to moderate together their assessment judgements of their pupils’ writing attainment.  Delegates will:

• be able to interpret the assessment criteria more accurately through guided standardisation;
• work collaboratively, with expert advice, to explain and moderate teacher assessment judgements.

Teachers should bring with them:

• all the evidence underpinning their teacher assessment for writing for pupils whose assessments they wish to moderate
• copies of the 2023-24 statutory assessment requirements
