Session overview

This practical session focuses on the statutory Y1 and Y2 Phonics screening check.

Teachers should bring with them the outcomes of any recent phonics assessments they have undertaken with their class.

Session aims

• Prepare teachers to administer the statutory phonics screening check in Y1 or Y2
• Support teachers in preparing children for the check and in analysing the outcomes.
