Session overview

Distributed, or spaced practice is an AfL approach that research shows leads to better long-term retention of learning. This short, focused, online session will look at how to organise and plan this into teaching sequences across the curriculum, suggesting varied, engaging and effective techniques.

  • Gain greater understanding of the research basis for the effectiveness of distributed practice in learning;
  • Consider a range of practical approaches to embedding distributed practice across the curriculum to secure speedier recall of key facts, and deeper learning of key concepts.
