Session overview
Distributed, or spaced practice is an AfL approach that research shows leads to better long-term retention of learning. This short, focused, online session will look at how to organise and plan this into teaching sequences across the curriculum, suggesting varied, engaging and effective techniques.
Session aims
- Gain greater understanding of the research basis for the effectiveness of distributed practice in learning;
- Consider a range of practical approaches to embedding distributed practice across the curriculum to secure speedier recall of key facts, and deeper learning of key concepts.
