Session overview
This short, focused, online session will give guidance on the effective teaching of common exception words and homophones, which are key elements in the spelling programme from Reception to Y6, especially when words from the Y3/4 and Y5/6 statutory wordlists are taken into account.
Session aims
- Understand the challenges involved in learning to spell these words;
- know the recommended, evidence-based apporaches to teaching spellings.
