Session overview
This short, focused, online session will look at morphology – the way English words are constructed from units of meaning – and the implications this has for the teaching and learning of spelling. The session will cover subject knowledge, recommended teaching approaches, and ways to support children in becoming more confident and competent in spelling these words in independent writing.
Session aims
- Secure subject knowledge in morphology in English spelling;
- Gain a repertoire of evidence-based teaching approaches which will support children in improving their spelling of these words.
